Msi cpu overclocking12/8/2023 I could always wait and save up for the new cards, but they are crazy expensive right now. Hz in most games on high/ultra with lowered resolution) Monitor: MSI Optix Curved 37" 3440x1440 100hz (big reason I want to overclock, can only hit over 100 Mobo: MSi Performance Gaming X470 Gaming Pro Carbon Was wondering people's thoughts on cpu air cooler vs the G12 kit (have no idea about the power delivery or board design of the MSI Aero)ĬPU: Ryzen 2700x 4.2 GHz w/ Noctua D15 Tower cooler I'd like to either get the NZXT G12 and watercool it, or put a big honkin cpu air cooler on it (I have noctua NH-D15 on CPU, could buy another to match XD) (was stable in furmark and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided benchmark until hit temp limit and throttled down, made it through 80% of deus ex benchmark before throttling) (was watching temps in afterburner on second monitor) Have gotten it to stable 2012 MHz (stock base 1602) with 100% fan speed in Afterburner, and it held that with furmark donut (~150 seconds) until hit Temp ceiling and throttled back down to 1660 MHz (refurbished so I'm redoing the thermal paste tomorrow) I'm now at the point where I'd like to overclock, but the thing throttles at stock settings in furmark. Unfortunately, it was before I knew too much about pc building (something I can now say I'm comfortable with.) I got a screaming deal on a 1080 few years back ($330, refurbished MSI Aero 1080, non-ti, BLOWER CARD)
